Mandarin Square 95% Complete; Gets Finishing Touches

With all the concreting and plastering works completed, including the core wall and exterior and interior walls, the 39-storey Mandarin Square in Binondo, Manila is now getting the finishing touches and some units should be ready for turnover to buyers by December, company officials said.

The stylish skyscraper located at 777 Ongpin Street is the third project to be completed on schedule by high-end developer Anchor Land Holdings, Inc., which has prided itself in living up to its commitments to customers and shareholders alike.

In the latest status report submitted to management, Mandarin Square project in charge Engineer Evelyn Deocaris said that as of October 16, 2009, Mandarin Square’s actual project accomplishment is at 94.57 percent, well within target.

“In fact, the service elevator is already operational,” the engineer said in her report, adding that all interior partitioning and plastering have likewise been completed.

The remaining works in what will be Chinatown’s tallest building to date are painting of the interior and exterior walls and some ceiling and tiling works in the higher units.

The lower floors are almost all completed, from kitchen cabinets to bathroom closets, doors, laminated floorings, bathroom fixtures and granite countertops, while non-stop work are being done in the higher floors for these finishing touches, the report said.

ALHI Vice Chairman Steve Li said Mandarin Square’s completion is another testament to the company’s commitment to its buyers particularly from the local ethnic Chinese community whose phenomenal success and influence in the Philippine economy has been a source of inspiration for Anchor Land.

The Mandarin Square boasts of 39 floors of first class residences, offering as much as five-room units with living spaces of up to 225 square meters, unheard of in most condominiums in the country but perfectly fitting the demands of Chinatown’s bona fides.

Together with Anchor Land’s first project, the 33-storey Lee Tower on Sabino Padilla Street, Mandarin Square has helped transform Chinatown’s enduring landscape, and perhaps Manila’s skyline, for good.

But while there will surely be taller buildings to rise in the district in the years to come, Anchor Land will always be the first and only trailblazers in the hearts of its satisfied customers at Chinatown.
