Anchor Land's H1 net up 67.3%

In a disclosure ALHI said revenues amounted to P973.42 million, up 70 percent compared to the P574.11 million it earned in same period last year.

Corporate secretary Christine Base said strong real estate sales of P925 million continue to drive ALHI's profitability adding that such growth in sales makes the company optimistic it will see a higher or at least equal its 2008 revenues of P1.36 billion.

"We are in a very strong position to Surpass last years earnings given the very healthy revenues and net income for the first half," AHLI chairman Stephen Lee said.
Lee said that AHLI will likely post a third consecutive year growth since its listing in 2007.

He added that ALHI's growth shows that the real estate sector remains robust despite the current economic crisis.

AHLI second quarter revenues amounted to P520.89 million, an up tick from the P452.53 million recorded in the first quarter, AHLI said.

The company earlier said that 2008 revenues was up almost threefold to P1.36 billion compared to the P487 million in 2007 despite the downtrend in the global financial markets that made many real estate developers scale down projects. -Dwight Sarga.
