December
11, 2009. Without much fanfare, the sales people of Anchor Land Holdings, Inc. took time off from their busy schedules to spend a morning with the children of Baclaran in Parañaque by treating the kids to an early Christmas party. Led by Ms. Elizabeth Ventura, ALHI Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Anchor Land’s sales force visited the Baclaran Learning Resource Center in Barangay Bagong Ilog, Paranaque for the outreach program that benefitted 150 kindergarten pupils. Ms. Ventura said it is Anchor Land’s way of sharing its blessings and affirming its commitment to the future of the country, especially after enjoying such a productive year in 2009. The ALHI contingent was accompanied by clowns who entertained the kids with their antics and magic shows. They also invited the children to try their hands at balloon sculpting, much to the youngsters’ delight. Food, freebies, games and other surpris e gifts also made sure the children had a great time. ALHI employees personally served meals to the children. “Yes, it is a very simple gesture. But it is our way of showing our genuine sincerity and desire to make a difference in the lives of children, even for one brief morning,” Ms. Ventura said. “The good thing is, not only did the children enjoy the food, gifts and games; more importantly, our sales people were very glad that they are able to bring cheers to the children of Baclaran. That is the true spirit of the season,” she added. The activity was held in coordination with the teachers of the Baclaran Learning Resource Center and barangay officials led by Barangay Chairman Dulio Cailes. |
